Prosthesis is an art project. Prosthesis is not being built to fulfill any practical need. It is not a tool, nor a weapon, nor a rehabilitation device. The purpose of Prosthesis is to explore what it means to be human by creating a challenging, completely unprecedented, interactive human-machine experience.    - Jonathan Tippet

I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on this amazing project, the brainchild of chief engineer and creative director Jonathan Tippett. As part of a UBC's final year design project I was part of a team that created a suspension system for the Alpha Leg (a fully functional two-thirds scale prototype of the legs to be used in the final machine). This system mounts atop the Alpha Leg to allow the pilot to ride the leg as he/she jumps it back and forth. You can read a summary report of our project here.
